What a day to be alive!!!
This morning I got up and made a scrumptious breakfast of french toast and bacon. 🍳🍳🍳 I followed this up with a deep clean of my kitchen! It just feels great walking into a spotless kitchen, doesn’t it??
During this time, I received an e-mail. About an hour earlier I filled out a form for to possibly be an extra or even help with some films for the Leadville Film Commission. Literally, that quick. Called and left a voicemail, to be continued.
Then I spent about the next 2 hours looking into starting a new business venture surrounding health and wellness as a side income. It’s an MLM company, so I don’t really think I am going to go down that road. Really doesn’t resonate with my being.
After this call, I got a call back from Leadville Film Commission. We are going to have a chat on Saturday. Literally all you have to do is ask. We need to ask more questions, amazing things happen when you let them.
Then I remembered, Victor Wooten is playing an hour and a half away tonight. Gauged some interest from friends, and we decided to round up a car of 4 to go enjoy the best musicians you’ve ever seen!! We wouldn’t be leaving for about 4 hours.
In the meantime, I decided to take a quick 30 min bike ride. It was a beautiful blue bird day, and decently warm. I got close to another sections KOM. (BEST TIME EVER ON STRAVA) but got 9th overall. Let me tell you, cold air is some of the hardest conditions ever to ride a bike in. Especially at altitude. It just cuts up your throat, really stings!!
Finally, we squad up. We head to Nederland, Colorado. We stop for some of the best Indian food I have ever had, about a mile from the venue. Lamb, Chicken, Vegetables, Rice, and Mixed nuts. OH MY WORD. Absolutely delectable!!!
We get to “The Caribou Room”. One of the best nights was ahead of me. One of the best rooms I have ever seen a show in. I swear, it was magic. I cannot even put the show into Words. They enforced a “No Photography OR video” policy. Some people may be upset about that. Honestly, I embraced it. NOBODY will ever get to have this experience. NOBODY gets to watch it. I stood 2 feet from the stage for 2 hours of pure musical magic. From 4 different basses, to a sax, drums, bassoon, flute, cello, and a violin, I was beside myself. Literally the best musical experience that I have ever had!!! Victor Wooten has been an inspiration to me personally for over a decade. This is the 4th time that I have met him! I am so blessed!! Blurry picture or not. It happened, and that’s HOW it happened. Life is not perfect!
So then we depart. We have to drive through Black Hawk, which is Colorado’s Casino Scene. Jokingly, someone suggests we stop and gamble. Huh, funny, I have $10 in my pocket and I had the same thought when we left the venue 30 minutes prior. $10 is $10. So we stop. I pull into a lot quick. Homie gets pissed because it’s valet parking and tells us to leave. So I drive down the street and pull into another lot. Walk into the casino, make $50 in roughly 3 minutes on the slot machine and split. I shit you not, I just walked in with $10, walked out with $61.45.!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Well, shit! I’m on a roll! Once we finally leave the casino area we head back onto the road. 3 Musicians in a car, throw on some hip hop beats and freestyle for the next hour. It was an absolute blast!!! I gained some excellent friends tonight. Some really great bonds are forming. These 9 days have really changed who I am. I cannot even explain how different I am. I am incredibly open to everything. I have had more conversations, on a deeper lever, than ever. It feels incredible. As I have seen the value in myself to take this challenge on, other’s have commented on it. It has started conversations. It has sparked feelings for change in others’ lives.
They say the 2 most important days in life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.
Sometimes is isn’t the day you find out why, but rather the day you FINALLY believe why. Today is that day. I look forward to the rest of this month with utter appreciation, and anticipation.
It really all comes down to one thing.
Are you in control of the choices you make?
When you are, that’s when life flips a switch.
